Its been a few weeks since I last updated the blog. Mostly its because we have been very busy with tournaments and mowing. We have been barely scraping by with our size staff keeping up with our regular mowing. Not much time for other misc. work like trimming, divot work, and bunker maintenance. These areas will improve as we get more staff members arriving in the next few weeks.
The course is in pretty good shape and we have been getting positive comments on the greens and their playability. We hope to get some more grooming done and light topdressings over the next few weeks to get some of the grain worked out. The bent grass has been really taking off and its starting to grow sideways, crowding out some of the poa. We will begin to work it more and stand it up, improving ball roll. We are still about two weeks ahead weather wise. We just sprayed fairways for the first time and this is two weeks earlier than normal for us.
I'm trying to play the course myself more often after work. Mostly on a Monday or Tuesdays after our work day. Anyone interested in playing let me know. Or if you see me and have questions feel free to ask me if you see me.
